Since I want to start learning some PHP, I thought I’d begin with some research. How many free video tutorials are out there? Here’s what I found so far:
- The Blog of Jonathon Sampson – This guy’s been making a bunch of great screencasts on PHP, as well as many other nerdy, computer-ish stuff.
- KillerPHP.com – Another set of great PHP tutorials, with more to be added in the future.
- PHP Video Tutorials – A whole website just for PHP video tutorials. Good effort, but I don’t like how he says he’ll only make a new video when he gets $100 of donations.
- YouTube PHP Videos – A search for PHP on YouTube gives some results, most of them either irrelevant or just plain bad. A few look like they might be decent, though.
- There are also a couple sites that let you watch some PHP lessons for free (just to get you to buy the rest), like on VTC.com and Computer Training Software.
I don’t know if I could make better tutorials, but I figure that with more free resources, more people will find and make use of them. Or something like that.
Maybe you’d be interested in reviewing and adding link to PHP category of BestTechVideos site here… It is located at http://www.bestechvideos.com/category/php/ and contains lots of useful links for PHP developers of different levels: from beginners to professionals.

Thanks for sharing, Alexey! I’d add it to the list, but all of the videos there are from other sites, like KillerPHP.com and Jonathon Sampson’s site, which I already have listed. Let me know if you make any original PHP videos, though!
