Using Personality Tests to Develop Characters

Procrastinating again, I somehow went from freewriting to taking random personality tests online. And then it hit me: couldn’t this be put to use? Whether or not a personality test is accurate, the questions could certainly spark some ideas about a character! Take this Personality Disorder Test, for example. I looked through it and immediately got some ideas for interesting combinations of character flaws. But instead of returning to my writing, I browsed through more personality tests, like The Ultimate Personality Test from Tickle.com.

Bottom line: I see potential in these, as long as you can tear yourself away from them! Have you ever found a personality test helpful for fleshing out your characters? And do you know of any more good ones? I’m thinking of compiling a list of them. (So then I can look through them when I don’t feel like writing. ;) )
